MerMay Baby with Ambassador Milagros C Rivera

If you follow Instagram, you'll know there are quite a few challenges ongoing at any given month.  My daughter asked if I would do a MerMay challenge with her this May.  "Bring it on", I said and I have been art journaling the month long.  With Sandra's new Sea Urchin it couldn't be more perfect than to bring one of my Merbabies to life and use the Sea Urchin as a throne.

I used Apoxie Sculpt to put it all together atop an art block and layered Ice Resin Enamels on the merbaby tail. In my island the sea urchins are black and since I knew Sandra's didn't come from the Caribbean I started looking for real colorful urchins in the world.  In my quest I found these beautiful sea urchins that helped me end up with a red coat.

I stamped around my block the tentacles of an octopus and decided to use the blue ringed octopus as inspiration

I love that you can see all the ridges, bumps and indentations on this new piece. It can certainly add flair to your summer home decor for sure, so have fun and don't forget to share it with us in the Tribe and to tag us on Instagram #relicsandartifacts
