ARTISTS CROSSING PATHS™ Dina Wakley

July 8, 2016 Sandra Evertson

Dina Wakley is an artist whose passion, talent and vision have merged into one. Her work is eternally thought provoking and alive with her trademark; vibrant color! Dina is a signature designer for Ranger Ink.

“I love mixed media and visual journaling. I keep journals and have kept a personal journal since I was 9.  Art journaling is a natural fit. I paint on large paper/boards/canvas and enjoy making mixed media projects like handmade books, scrolls and assemblage pieces. My one true love is acrylic paint, the Stabilo All pencil, Neocolor II crayons, and Conte pencils have my heart.

Inspiration is everywhere especially in the art of others. You have to see what I call “In-person art” not on the computer, that way you can fully and totally embrace what the artist was feeling while working on any given piece. I like to go to museums and stand as close to the art as the guards will let me. I breathe in the fumes and study the brushstrokes. I marvel. I study. And I make better art because of it.”

Dina’s favorite products:
My new paint colors Cheddar, Elephant, and Ocean.

Dina’s Current obsessions:

Drawings by Guy Denning and Tina Berning.
Journals and art by Eva Magill Oliver.
Paintings by Andrew Salgado.
