Art Is The Healer- Milagros C Rivera

January 15, 2020 Guest User

(Editor’s Note: Our Muse, Milagros C. Rivera has submitted this post after a series of earthquakes have shaken Puerto Rico. We thank her for sharing this with us. She also had driven quite a distance to find an internet connection to submit a post after Hurricane Maria.)

Broken, an adjective, meaning having been fractured or damaged and no longer in one piece or in working order. it’s not truly a feeling but something going on right now in my island. About 2,000 earthquakes have been felt from December through now, in a lapse of less than a month our lives have changed.

et, we don’t feel that way. There’s a resilience ingrained in our DNA, a powerful will to survive and overcome. A need to help our neighbors above all else.

As an Artist, as a Maker, as a Muse I indulge in the knowing that art heals all, to us there isn’t a broken thing we can’t mend, no crackle too big we can’t fix. And that is what drives us through!

In Milagros C. Rivera, Muse Tags earthquake, Puertorico, muse, crackle, patina, assemblage
